10 Thoughts on the Latest Bachelor: An Absolute “Finasco”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.

1. This whole champagne drama is too much.

I understand being angry over having something of yours stolen, but a bottle of champagne? Come on Kelsey. Clearly Hannah Ann had no idea you had been saving that bottle for a year. Hopefully their over-dramatic sob-fest put the whole scandal to rest.

2. Why can no one speak basic English?

Two words: “finasco” and “linger-y.”

3. The return of Demi

Demi ended up being a fan favorite of Colton’s season. She even stuck around to appear on Hannah’s season of “The Bachelorette,” and “Bachelor in Paradise.” Well, Bachelor nation just can’t seem to get enough of Demi because she was back for a limited time to host one of the weirdest group dates I’ve seen in awhile.

4. The pillow fight

In what I’m assuming was an attempt to draw in more male viewers, each contestant was dressed in some form of pajamas and forced to hit each other with pillows in front of Peter, because that’s how you decide on a future spouse.

5. The Sydney vs. Alayah drama

Honestly I found this entire plot point of the show ridiculous. Here are two girls who have gotten practically zero screen time now stirring up some drama that frankly was nonexistent. If Sydney had just minded her own business and not started drama with Alayah, she would probably look a lot better in Peter’s eyes than she does now.

6. Victoria P.

Poor Victoria P. This girl just can’t seem to catch a break. After throwing up during the first group date, she’s now crying on a 1 on 1 with Peter. Frankly, I’m rooting for her, as I think her and Peter share a genuine connection.

7. Mykenna during the rose ceremony

I’m not entirely sure what was going on inside Mykenna’s head during the rose ceremony, but I have never seen a person look so genuinely uncomfortable when I think we all knew she had nothing to worry about.

8. Alayah getting sent home

While I never really understood what was so “fake” about her, I didn’t really mind her getting sent home if it meant we didn’t have to rehash on this unnecessary drama again. Too bad she looks like she’s coming back for revenge on Sydney.

9. The girls treating Peter like a superior

I get that they’re all competing for his love and attention, but the girls telling on each other to Peter has GOT to stop. Frankly, it creates a weird power dynamic almost as if he is a disciplinarian, and it’s also just plain petty.

10. The pool party

I don’t think a single person stepped foot in the pool.
