A Cozy Playlist to Get You Through Social Distancing

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

These tunes feel like a warm hug when you can’t get one from your besties.

First of all, you should be practicing social distancing. I cannot stress enough how sacrificing your daily routine, even as a healthy twenty-something who is at low risk themselves, can make all the difference for those in our population who are the most at risk. Seriously guys. Stay. Home. It’s hard, yes, but this is the time to be selfless and empathetic and to protect vulnerable members of our communities.

That being said, decreasing your regular level of social interaction is lonely, and the crescendo of this crisis has been scary enough as it is. But it’s the perfect time to build new social habits. Email the teacher from high school that you loved and haven’t spoken to in a while. Facetime your friends from college. Join an online book club. Stream yourself playing sports video games while the real leagues are suspended. Find new ways to reach out, and it will make all of this a little more bearable.

In an attempt to help everyone through this, I’ve compiled a cozy little playlist to relax to while you’re stuck at home.

I’ll definitely be lighting some candles (something I couldn’t do in my dorm anyway!) and putting on a face mask while I chill out to this playlist and write some long emails to people I haven’t spoken to in a while. Hopefully, you’ll do the same!
