The Best Animal-Friendly Beauty Companies

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

As the countdown to the holidays continues, many of you are probably filling your wish lists with a bunch of new makeup and beauty products to pamper yourselves in style. As you brainstorm ways to spend those Sephora gift cards this winter, keep in mind the importance of choosing brands that are committed to making cruelty-free products that are never tested on animals. Extend your holiday spirit to our furry friends this December by checking out a few of these awesome animal-friendly brands!

1. Lush

Lush is known for their “all natural” approach to beauty, offering a wide selection of skin and bath products that are 100% vegan and made from natural materials. Lush embraces the delicious-smelling and moisturizing qualities of natural ingredients like sea salt, coffee beans, and honey in their popular bath bombs, body soaps, and lotions. They almost look good enough to eat!

2. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

For any girl who loves to try out bright and daring makeup looks, check out Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. This is a high-quality cosmetic brand that prides itself on being 100% vegan and cruelty free. I definitely recommended picking up a few Lip Tars— intense, long lasting lip colors that are available in every shade of the rainbow!

3. E.L.F.

For those of you looking to make a difference on a tight budget, E.L.F.  Cosmetics is great for the affordable makeup and brushes. E.L.F. offers a ton of different products typically ranging from $1 to $6. The products are cruelty free and never tested on animals!

4. Modern Minerals

Modern Minerals embraces the earth-based beauty lifestyle by infusing their beautiful foundations and blushes with essences of flowers, herbs and gemstones to purify skin through natural aromatherapy.

5. EcoTools

Not only are all of EcoTools brushes completely free of animal products, but they are also environmentally conscious as well. All brushes, packaging, and makeup cases are made from recycled tree-free paper, bamboo, and cotton fibers!
