I’ve been getting into podcasts recently because I’ve found that they’re the perfect thing to listen to while on the go. As much as I love my cult-classic Spotify playlists, I needed a change that helped pass the time in college. With the long commutes to class, I’ve found podcasts are the perfect way to gain a little insightful wisdom or even a good laugh before getting to my lecture.

Personally, I like to stick to self-help podcasts because they really get me motivated for the day. With all the changes that came with adapting to college, I was feeling a little lost and overwhelmed. But these podcasts have provided me with some advice, motivation, and humor along the way.

Anything Goes with emma chamberlain

Emma Chamberlain’s Anything Goes will forever be my go-to podcast while I get ready for my day because she really connects with her listeners and touches on some serious topics in a light-hearted way. There is a lot of fluctuation when it comes to the variety of subjects that Emma discusses in each episode, but I think that’s what makes her podcast so engaging.

As someone who is still figuring myself out, Anything Goes dives into conversations that are relevant to this transitional phase in my life. I find a lot of comfort in knowing that someone as influential as Emma Chamberlain is also struggling with navigating growing up and making her way into adulthood. She provides big-sisterly advice on high school, friendships, and relationships while keeping an open mind to the fact that everyone’s experiences are different.

The Mindset Mentor

Starting at a new school is the perfect time to begin changing your mindset. Whether you’ve found that you’re a little too hard on yourself or you want to start channeling your pessimistic attitude into something positive, I highly recommend you listen to Rob Dial’s The Mindset Mentor. This podcast is for those who really want to try changing their habits and start working on themselves, so the tone is very motivational. The episodes are a bit shorter, but I find that they are the perfect way to hype myself up when I’m being too critical.

Trying Not to Care

Trying Not to Care has been a recent favorite of mine purely because I love how honest Ashley Corbo is. Similar to Anything Goes, the variety of topics that Corbo covers in her series ranges from tacky internet trends to more serious issues like self-image and friend break-ups. This podcast is the perfect one for you if you’re looking to get out of your high school mindset and start focusing on yourself.

I spent much of my time growing up worried about what others would think of me, but I’ve come to realize how important it is to stop caring about what others say and start thinking for yourself. Changing your attitude isn’t the easiest thing to do alone, and I’ve found that this podcast helps provide a new perspective on being kind to yourself. Corbo’s transparency has also helped me feel more comfortable with myself by showing me that I’m not the only one feeling this way. If you’re looking for a good episode, two of my favorites are “In My Selfish Era” and “Owning Who You Are.”

So next time you’re considering going on a hot-girl walk, try putting on one of these podcasts! It’s a nice change of pace from your shuffled playlists, and you might just learn a thing or two!
