10 Thoughts You Have When Waking Up for an 8 am Class

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

We’ve all been there. That one class you need to take…but it’s only open at eight in the morning. Here are the 10 thoughts you have when waking up for that dreaded early morning class.

1. “I will be wasting so much money if I skip this class.”

At some point or another, you have calculated how much each class costs you…and it’s always way too much.

2. “Then again it’s my money…I think I’m old enough to decide to waste it.”

You’re an adult now, so technically you can miss as much class as you want. But you know that as much as you don’t want to go sometimes, class is always the smarter option. Although, a few skipped lectures never hurt anybody.

3. “Crap, did the professor say they were starting to take attendance?”

There’s always that one professor who decides to waste ten minutes of class to take attendance for two hundred kids at eight in the morning. Really?

4. “Who can I get the notes from if I skip?”

You always make sure to find that one person you can become close enough to that you can comfortably ask them for notes. First, you should probably make sure that they’ll be in class that day too.

5. “How many more classes until winter break?”

The time between Thanksgiving and winter break always feels like it will last an eternity, but don’t fret. You only have a few more weeks to go until you’re done with this semester.

6. “Why did I stay up until two a.m. watching Netflix again?”

You have lost many nights of decent sleep to that sweet temptress Netflix.

7. “Okay, if I get up now, I’ll reward myself with some quality coffee.”

Ah, the bribery phase. Come on, just wake up a few minutes early and splurge on some warm coffee, sweet smoothie, or an actual breakfast for once.

8. “But my bed is so warm.”

For some reason, your stiff dorm room mattress is never more comfortable than when you actually have to leave it.

9. “How did I do this in high school?”

Because the prospect of waking up at six thirty in the morning five days a week now makes you physically sick. How did we all do that in high school?

10. “I’m never taking an 8am again.”

Never. Even though you probably will.
