Meet the President of Delta Zeta: Maddie Reed

Tell me about yourself? (Hometown, Grade, Major, and a fun fact/something interesting about you)

I’m from Huntington, New York, I’m a Sophomore, Marketing Major, and a fun fact about me is that I have a twin brother!

Why did you want to be president of DZ?

During my time in the chapter, prior to my presidency, I felt like I was able to really find my place within DZ because of the unity of our chapter. I was lucky enough to serve on our previous executive board and was able to see all the work that went into fostering the presence of that unity from a leadership perspective, and it inspired me to want to continue that work.

What are some goals you have for your term?

Some goals I have for my term include continuing to foster an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and fun. I want to continue to provide a transparent and clear representation of our sisterhood to those both inside and outside the Greek Community. In that same realm, continuing Delta Zeta’s legacy on the Bryant University campus by having our sisters participate and belong to a variety of campus events and organizations, to ultimately break the Greek life stereotype.

What are some events that you have planned/are looking forward to?

Some events we have planned this semester that I’m looking forward to are our annual philanthropy event, Paint-a-DZ on April 27th. Another event I’m really looking forward to is the Red Sox Game we’re attending at the end of April!

Favorite thing about DZ?

My favorite thing about DZ is our chapter culture. We show up for each other on a daily basis whether it’s about Delta Zeta or not. I believe that our sorority builds women up to be both strong individuals and empathetic supporters. I’ve experienced this ‘DZ branded’ support firsthand, and I can honestly say I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for Delta Zeta.
