Meet the Greek Life Presidents – Cameron Lewis

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

With the second semester just around the corner, Her Campus Bryant  wanted to introduce you to all the new Greek Life presidents as spring recruitment kicks off the week all students return.

Meet: Cameron Lewis of Sigma Chi

Her Campus: Why did you decide to go Greek?

Cameron Lewis: I decided to go Greek because I wanted to become a part of something bigger than myself. I saw it as an opportunity to join a brotherhood that positively impacts the campus and would give me lifelong friends.

HC: When did you decide to run for President?

CL: I decided to run for President because having the opportunity to motivate and inspire our brothers meant a lot to me. Sigma Chi has given me so much that now, I want the opportunity to give back and make Sigma Chi the best it can be.

HC: What are your favorite things about Sigma Chi?

CL: My favorite thing about Sigma Chi is the opportunities it has given me to lead and grow. Just this past summer for Sigma Chi, I attended Grand Council in Chicago, where we voted on legislation for the fraternity. I also attended Balfour Leadership Training Workshop in Bowling Green, Ohio where fraternity officers went through a 4-day leadership training process.

HC: Are you in any other leadership roles on campus? Or in any other clubs or organizations?

CL: On campus I am involved in the Finance Association, Inter Fraternity Council (IFC), and GAMMA, (Greeks Advocating Mature Management of Alcohol)

HC: What’s your favorite thing about Bryant?

CL: My favorite thing about Bryant is the small, community feel it has to it. Whether it is walking to class or getting food in Salmo, I always see someone I know.

HC: What is your favorite Sigma Chi memory?

CL: My favorite Sigma Chi memory is seeing our chapter raise 20k for the Huntsman Cancer Institute during Derby Days. This a goal our chapter has had for a long time and seeing it finally happen, for such a great cause, felt amazing. Our Derby Days’ Chairman, Will Tondo, did an incredible job leading the event and even got to visit the Huntsman this past summer.

I am a senior, Communication major and Marketing and Prof. & Creative Writing double-minor from Readfield, Maine.
