Autumn is here, and that means all of the fall activities can begin! Our favorite activities are to go apple and pumpkin picking! With these, your baking options are unlimited:

1. Caramel Apples:

  • 9 assorted apples, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup of your choice of topping

2. Apple Pie:

  • 1 box of pie crusts
  • 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (6 medium)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

3. Pumpkin Bread:

  • 1 can of Pumpkin
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose or whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup coarsely chopped nuts
  • ½ cup raisins, if desired
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves

4. Pumpkin Donuts:

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin purée (canned pumpkin)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, or 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon plus a heaping 1/4 teaspoon each ground nutmeg and ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

5. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies:

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla paste (extract will work just fine)
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
