Congratulations! You have secured an internship / work experience!

The first hurdle is working out what to wear for potentially previously unencountered office dress code. Each office environment varies, but there are a number of staple items which can be combined and dressed up or down to create a plethora of suitable looks.

  1. The Statement Suit

A coloured suit is an investment piece which can be combined with other items in your wardrobe to create multiple looks. Many high street shops, such as Topshop and ASOS, offer suits at reasonable prices. If you have a formal event or your graduation coming up, why don’t you dress it up with heels and a bralet to get the most out of this wardrobe staple.

2. The Printed Shirt

Go for a bold print in a monochrome or pastel colour, which opens up options to pair it with a black skirt or trousers, or a coloured trouser or jacket.

A silky shirt like this Topshop Zebra Print Shirt can be layered with a bralet and jeans for a versatile after-work look.

3. The Versatile Flat

The student budget means versatile accessories are a must. A simple show in a statement silhouette will pair with skirt and trousers , whatever colour or design your outfit is.

4. The Dressy T-Shirt

A dressy t-shirt will get you through a hot commute, will allow a seamless transition from office to evening, and allow you to stay comfortable for long office hours. Layer under a suit jacket or pair with a statement skirt or trouser.

5. The Office Tote

Black accessories allow versatility within a capsule wardrobe, and a roomy tote bag can hold your laptop whilst not getting in the way on your tube journey. A subtle animal print means our bag can double up for university or weekends as it is practical but stylish!

6. The Personal Piece

Just because you’re in an office environment doesn’t mean you have to lose your personal style. Find an office-appropriate accessory which can become your personal piece. A coloured earring or hair accessory is perfect for adding a pop of personality to your office outfits.
