Summer Countdown: Festival Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bristol chapter.

Festival season is approaching! As always, Her Campus are here to enable your essay procrastination with the summer essentials you need for a fabulous festival weekend. “Love Saves the Day” and “Dot to Dot” are just two of the eagerly anticipated music events in Bristol this summer; check out our list of 7 music events to get excited for this summer for more!

Wellies

We all know the closest we’re going to get to a Coachella pool party is a muddy puddle in the middle of a field. So, wellie boots are pretty much an essential, especially if you’re camping!

Bumbags

Despite being mortified throughout my childhood by my dad’s leather bumbag, these have swung back around into fashion and are the best way of keeping your valuables safely on your person throughout the day.

Bodysuits

Bodysuits are a versatile and comfy way to show off your silhouette. The only problem is that they make going to the toilet 10 times more difficult, but hey, every girl loves a challenge.

Denim shorts

Nothing screams a British summer like a pair of high waisted denim shorts. Go for a lighter wash if you’re channelling the boho look, or if you’re feeling extra cheeky (pun intended) go for a bold colour.

Hair accessories

If you’re looking for a more original way to accessorise than a floral crown (yawn), go for pom poms, scrunchies, hair crystals or metallic hair rings like the ones pictured below.

Disposable camera

Instead of getting your phone out all the time and potentially becoming the latest victim of a smashed screen, nab a disposable camera. It’s a bit more effort to get the pictures developed, but the photos will look awesome.

Waterproof jacket.

It will probably rain. You need one.
