In the midst of cramming for 3 different cumulative exams or multiple 10 page long papers, it could be super tempting and gratifying to reach for a bag of chips or get a 6-pack of cookies delivered to your dorm room (Thank god for Insomnia!). Even though you definitely deserve a few sweet treats to get you through finals week and to celebrate your completion, you will feel a whole lot better and more energized if you mainly stick to noshing on some healthy snacks! Here a few quick (and super easy) suggestions to keep you feeling energized during these trying times!

  1. Whole Wheat Toast With Peanut Butter and Bananas

This is a super easy snack that you can get all ingredients for in the dining hall! This snack will get your energy up and the protein will keep you satisfied for longer, meaning you won’t need to be constantly running back and taking study breaks to get more snacks!

2. Hummus and Vegetables

This is a super quick and easy snack that just requires the Sabra Hummus packs from the dining halls and you picking up your favorite veggies from the campus salad bar. This quick bite will provide you with tons of protein and veggie power and if you’re feeling ambitious, you can even follow a recipe to make you own hummus here ( but realistically ,who has the time for that?)

3. Frozen Grapes

Craving sugar to get you through your tedious and boring index cards and review sheets? Just pop a bag of grapes into your freezer for a few hours and this treat will definitely fulfill your sweet tooth in a much healthier fashion. To make them even sweeter, follow this recipe for grapes that taste exactly like candy!

4. Cereal Trail Mix

Stop by any distress event being held on campus, and likely the activity is making Trail Mix. It’s a classic study snack because the whole grain cereal will give your brain the fuel to review material for hours, and it’s super convenient to make quickly and carry to all your review sessions. Here’s one great recipe but feel free to be creative!

5. Apple Sandwiches

Apple sandwiches are super yummy and simple to make (Just sandwich some peanut butter and granola between slices of apples). This snack provides you with tons of nutrients and will have you feeling satisfied and alert!

6. Avocado Toast

We all know Avocado Toast is #Trendyaf  these days, but there’s a reason for it as avocado is an amazing super food that provides tons of fiber and healthy monounsaturated fat. Just grab some whole wheat bread and an avocado from the dining halls, add some seasoning to your liking, and you’re good to go!

7. Yogurt or Dark Chocolate Covered Berries

Berries are amazing for you because of all of their antioxidants and the phytonutrients, which will increase blood flow to the brain and help you perform better. In addition, you can convert them to an even sweeter treat by covering them in yogurt or melted dark chocolate and freezing them!

8. Greek Yogurt

Greek Yogurt is all the rage and there is a reason why. It comes up in multiple flavors and brands and has tons of protein, which will keep you full and energized for longer! In addition, you can mix in so many ingredients such as granola, dark chocolate chips, fruit, and more! For the easy way out, just pick up a Chobani Flip where the ingredients are already included (my personal favorite: Key Lime Pie!)

9. BONUS: Water

Snack? Maybe not but this is possibly more important than everything else on this list! It is incredibly important to stay hydrated while studying to avoid feelings of dehydration. Your head will already be hurting from all the cramming you are doing, don’t add to it with a dehydration induced headache! Make sure to always have a filled water bottle with you while studying and remember to take water breaks!

Finals week can be draining, but your health always comes first so make sure to be adequately nourishing yourself throughout. Happy studying!
