Although most Bentley students went home for summer break, some students decided to stay up in the Boston area to take classes, for internships, and to explore Boston! It may be time to rent your textbooks, but it is still beautiful weather, and there is time to go to the places that were hotspots this summer.

Take a run on Memorial Drive…

With MIT on your left and the Charles River and the Boston skyline on your right, this is a great place to run, walk, or bike. Not only is it beautiful, you can also achieve your summer exercise goals.

Go to the SOWA market

Open on Sundays throughout the summer, this market is packed full of items from local vendors including fresh fruits and vegetables and a variety of different drinks, clothing, and artwork.

Hang out with friends staying in the area

If you have friends who may go to school in the Greater Boston Area or live in Massachusetts, now is the perfect time to go catch up with them right before classes start.

Go for a hike right across the street from Bentley at Stonehurst

If you want to stay closer to campus, there are many hidden treasures right here in Waltham.

Go shopping at the Prudential Center

Although there are some pretty expensive stores, you can also find some great deals in the sale sections of some stores. It is also just a right of passage for any Bostonian to go shopping there at least once.

Go to a Red Sox game with friends

There is still plenty of time to head to a game at Fenway! Grab your closest friends and look for a deal! The Boston Red Sox often do promotions where if you are a student, you can get a ticket for $9 plus fees. Check the schedule or website to find your tickets now!

Go on a duck boat tour

Although rather pricey, I was able to go with a group from Bentley and get a group price. Not known for being a locals outing, the duck boats are still fun and exciting even if you’ve been around Boston for awhile and know your way around. Your tour guide gives you so many tips and places to visit in Boston that you may not have gone before. It is also quite the history lesson!
