The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the flowers are starting to bloom. It’s spring time! If you ask me what my favorite season is, I always say fall. Who doesn’t love some good sweater weather and a nice cup of spiced apple cider? But if you ask me which season makes my heart jump for joy, I’d say spring. There’s just something magical about seeing the first tulip pop up or having five consecutive days where the sun shines bright.

If you are like me, winter gets you down. After Christmas, all of the holly and jolly is gone and you are left with dreary, cold weather. You sit in your room, curled in three blankets, trying to work up the motivation to study for four tests. Life doesn’t seem too promising, but you tough it out and make it to spring where you are rewarded with beautiful skies and blossoming nature.

I know we are all busy with tests, assignments, and finals, but don’t forget to shed your sweaters and get used to this amazing spring weather! Take a look at the amazing world around you and be reminded of all the beautiful things that you are surrounded by. We go to Belmont where landscaping is a big thing. Don’t take that for granted, especially during this time of year. Take a minute to get some fresh air, bask in the sun, and refuel yourself for the rest of the semester.

It’s spring time guys! We are almost to summer!

FYI: If you need a spring pick me up, Dairy Queen is having its fourth annual Free Cone Day on March 20 (the first day of spring). During this day they also take donations to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Click here for a list of participating locations.
