Role at HC Belmont: Writer
Why did you choose Belmont? Â
When I was deciding where to go to college, all I knew is that I wanted to move somewhere new. I chose Belmont because it was such a creative school in a creative city and I’m so glad I made the choice I did!
Â
What’re your career goals?Â
Definitely something having to do with writing. Maybe journalism or editing. All I know is that words can change the world and I want to be a part of it!
Â
Favorite place to go in Nashville?Â
I can’t stop going to NoBaked Cookie Dough, (if you haven’t been, you have to try their Red Velvet!) I love stopping by the Nashville Humane Association to walk and play with all the dogs!
Â
Do you have any hobbies?Â
Definitely poetry. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, but in the last few years I’ve structured it a bit more and discovered that poetry is my favorite way to express myself. I also love embroidery or anything artistic.Â
Â
What’s your favorite class you’ve taken at Belmont?Â
I loved my First Year Writing class with Catherine Kelly-Jennings and I’m really liking my Foundations of Journalism class with Dorren Robinson.
Top 3 favorite bands?
Right now it’s LANY, EDEN and Jon Bellion.Â
Â
Favorite Movie?Â
I recently watched Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again and I LOVED it. Other than that, the Star Wars movies are classics.Â
Â
Favorite quote? Â
“This, too, shall pass”
Â
Favorite Food?Â
Banana bread. Hands down.Â
Â
What would you say to someone considering joining the HC team?Â
Go for it! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Even if you don’t consider yourself a writer, there’s absolutely a spot for you! I’ve only been part of Her Campus for a little while, but I’ve loved every minute of it.
