Get Your Butt off the Couch and Into Shape

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Trying different Pinterest workouts is a really fun way to get back into shape. Pinterest has all these different kinds of workouts and while some of them are just average, some of them really work! So just like everyone else at BC, we are looking to have the perfect beach bodies for Spring Break. This week we really wanted to whip the booty into shape. So that being our main focus, we tried this great workout from Pinterest! Let me tell you from experience that I can already feel my booty tightening up and it’s going to be looking fantastic for the beach.

Squat

This basic move is probably one of the best exercises to get yourself into shape for Sring Break. Squats are easy to do and you will definitely feel the burn. They also don’t require a gym, meaning you can do them anywhere!

How to do it:

  • Put your legs a little more than shoulder width apart, toes forward
  • Sit like you are sitting down in a chair
  • Stand up and repeat

Lunge

After about twenty of these, we could really feel them working our muscles. Push yourself and you’ll get the results you want.

  • Keep your upper body straight, with your shoulders and back relaxed
  • Step forward with one leg, bending until your leg forms a 90 degree angle
  • Make sure your knee does not go past your ankle and that you squeeze your core

Squat with a Kick Back

This is one step up from a basic squat that will work your butt, legs, shoulders, back and abs.

  • Stand with your legs shoulder-width apart.
  • Sit back into a squat bringing your fist close to your chin.
  • Then, lift your left leg straight behind you while extending your arms forward.
  • Return to the squat position and repeat on the other side.

Tip-Top Toner

You will feel this one in your calves, thighs and butt.

  • Stand with feet wider than shoulder-width apart, toes out, hands on hips.
  • Squat until thighs are parallel to floor
  • Then lift both heels
  • Lower heels
  • Repeat.

So don’t use the excuse that the Plex is too far or that it’s too cold out to workout. These are four exercises you can do that require minimal space and minimal time.
