Fashion Trends 2013 Run Down: Spring Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

The color pop:  fun, fearless, and so spring.  Our wardrobes suddenly go from wintery blues and grays to bright, vibrant colors once the temperature starts to rise and the sun comes out.

In 2012 we all know the “in” color was orange. This year?  Emerald green.  The celebrities are wearing it already and the stores are packed with it.  The color represents serenity, earth, balance, and harmony.  There are so many shades of this color and a lot of different ways to wear it – the possibilities are endless.  It works if you’re going for an earthy, crunchy look, but also works if you’re going for a classy, elegant look.  Pairing emerald with violet is going to be the popular color combination. These two colors together are bold and daring for this fashion season. You can be sure you’ll see it everywhere this spring!

Adding personality to your look is what spring fashion is all about.  Simple shirts with standout jewelry will for sure add spunk to your look.  A plain tank with a bib-necklace is a look you’ll see more often this season!

Stripes are definitely in.  Try wearing horizontal stripes that move from thin to thick – they have a slimming effect.  Also, mixing contrasting stripes in the same outfit will give you that cool, nonchalant vibe that we all secretly want to have.
