You Are More Beautiful Than You Think

Imagine you are people watching.

“I like their outfit.”

“That hairstyle looks really nice on them.”

”Their smile is really pretty.”

“I love their makeup.”

”The keychains on their backpack make them so unique.”

”They are so beautiful.”

We find beauty in strangers.

Think of a classmate.

“I love the way they talk about ideas.”

“It’s so kind how they always say hi to me.”

“I love how they style their clothes and jewelry.”

“Their ideas are so creative.”

”I love the way they express themselves.”

”They are so beautiful.”

We find beauty in our peers.

Think about your friends.

“Their hair looks so nice.”

“I love the way they dress.”

“The sound of their voice is so comforting”

“Their smile is so lovely.”

“I love the sound of their laugh.”

“Their music taste is so good.”

“I love the way their eyes light up when they talk.”

“They are so kind to people.”

“They are so unique.”

“I love the way they view the world.”

“Their soul is so beautiful.”

“They are so beautiful.”

We find beauty in our friends.

You are a stranger, a peer, and a friend. So surely people think these things about you too, right? If I think a stranger passing by is beautiful, whether it’s their outfit or overall vibe, why would someone not think the same of me? If I think my peers are beautiful, why would one of them not think the same of me. If I think each of my friends are beautiful, inside and out, in their own special ways, why would they not think the same of me? If I can recognize the beauty in people, I should be able to recognize it in myself the same way strangers and friends would be able to.

Look in the mirror.

”My hair looks so nice.”

“I really like my outfit.”

“I love the way I care for my friends.”

“The way I express myself is so cool.”

”I love how I sound when I sing and laugh.”

“I love my music taste.”

”I am so unique.”

”I view the world in such a special way.”

”My soul is so beautiful.”

”I am so beautiful.”

Beauty is inside and outside. Everyone, even you, is beautiful. For example, maybe at one point you told your friend, “You look so good in that outfit. You don’t even know!” Maybe you’ve even thought it, and haven’t said it. Maybe they’ve thought the same about you. Maybe you’ve passed someone in a coffee shop, and they’ve thought to themselves how beautiful and unique you are. Maybe your classmate admires your ideas and self-expression. If you think all these things about other people, why would someone not think the same of you? Think about all of the people you find beautiful. Think of all the other people who would agree that these people are beautiful. SO many people! And so many people think you are beautiful as well! Everyone can find beauty in this world. You are a beautiful being in this world. And even if you know you are beautiful (which you should), know there are people in this world that haven’t told you, but have thought it. You are more beautiful than you think. You are more beautiful than you could ever know.
