Takin’ it From The Court to The Field

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Arizona chapter.

We have all heard that all good things come to an end. May 10th marks the end of most people’s college career. Graduation is always something to look forward to when you have enough time to think about it but when you know it’s right in front of you, you may feel all sorts of feelings all at the same time like happiness, sadness, excitement or fear. Class of 2013 will be the first experience the new trend, graduation will now be held at the Arizona Stadium. The University of Arizona decided to move the commencement ceremony from the McKale Center to the Arizona Stadium. This is both exciting and exasperating to our seniors. Brittney Dicker, fellow writer for Her Campus and soon to be graduate says, “it is really awesome to be the first class to graduate in the Arizona Stadium.” The reason for the change in locations is space because the number of graduates and their families are growing, McKale was just too small so they picked the place with enough space. Brittney also told me that she was worried that she would not be able to see/find her friends or family during or after the ceremony. I guess we’ll see if this was a good choice on May 10, 2013 at 7:30 PM. We bid farewell to our graduates and good luck to them at the new location.
