Being in college, it’s super easy to let your courseload and social life take control without paying much attention to your own well being. But making sure you take the time to take care of yourself is vital to your success and welfare. And doing it is easier than you think!

Take a break!

Whether it’s just an hour or a whole day, taking the time to actually sit and breathe does so much for the soul.

Manage your time wisely.

Let’s face it, we’re all guilty of procrastination, but if you can be disciplined enough, it will take away all the stress you would have from cramming to get your homework done the night before.

Pamper yourself.

It’s absolutely okay to spoil yourself every once in a while! Take a luxurious bath, get your nails done, or just do something you wouldn’t typically get to do for yourself.

Make sure you’re getting enough sleep.

The workload for college students is heavy and while it’s important to make sure you’re getting it all done, it’s equally just as important that your’e getting enough sleep. What good is a poorly done paper that you’ve done at two in the morning?

Eat smart.

It’s true, you are what you eat. It’s so easy to want to eat cheap, highly processed foods, especially when you have no time or money. But you’ll find that you feel considerably better if you eat healthy foods.

Get outside.

Now that the weather is warming up here in Boone, there are no excuses to not go outside for some fresh air. I can’t think of a better way to clear my mind than going on a long hike.
