Being 21 opens many doors for collegiettes in Boone (mainly the doors to the ABC store), and gives the opportunity to explore all the great deals that are around town on drinks and food. Boone caters to its 21 and over students by offering a few deals every day of the week. Here are some of the well-known, hidden and loved deals at some favorite spots around town.
Monday
The Rock: 45 cent wings, 55 cent boneless wings, $1.50 Fatty Natty Bottles. If you’re already being hit by the Monday Blues, swing by The Rock for a welcoming environment with some of the best wings around town.
The TApp Room: Not only is there $4.95 Chicken or BBQ Quesadillas and $2 Bud Lights, but TApp always has a rotating draft, so they keep their draft beers different every time you go in there
Sagebrush Steakhouse: $1 Margaritas
Tuesday
Boone Saloon: $1.25 Tacos and $1.25 High Life Drafts/$4.25 Pitchers. Saloon always has excellent service and food. You’ll be captivated by the atmosphere of Saloon and end up staying there for a few hours, but it’s well worth it.
Capone’s: $2 for any beer, and every day lunch specials of 1 topping pizza, side salad and soda. Capone’s is a quick walk from the library for students that are out of class early that want to grab a quick brew and some great pizza.
Wednesday
The TApp Room: $2 Corona, $2 chicken or barbeque tacos (all day). It’s a well-known and great hump day treat for when you’ve had a stressful few days of school, and TApp is an easy walk from campus for lunch or supper.
The Rock: Team Trivia night with $1.50 Tacos (starting at 4pm), $2.50 Dos XX Pints / $9 pitcher, $4 Margaritas / $12 Pitchers. It’s pretty obvious this place wants to cater to our college town; Trivia is a great way to unwind with your friends in the middle of the week, and toss in those margs for an even more entertaining night.
Thursday
Galileo’s: $4 Burger and Beer Deal (Budweiser). We’ve heard great things about the burgers at Galileo’s, and if you aren’t up for the hype of their famous karaoke Fridays, this is a great alternative.
Basil’s: $2 Beers all day. Get a pint, can, or bottle of any beer for just $2! Basil’s always has unique and local varieties to try!
Town Tavern: “1-2-3-4 Thursdays” featuring $1 Jell-O shots, $2 Coors Light bottles, $3 Rum ‘n’ Coke, $4 BBQ Sandwich with French fries. Tavern is a great place to kick back and relax while watching your favorite team play or a recap of the week. Their food is great, and you can walk there from campus!
Friday
Town Tavern: “Fiesta Friday” includes $1.75 chips and salsa, $2.50 Corona bottles, $4 Margartias. This is a great way to spend your Friday night if you aren’t wanting to hit the bars or a party, and a great addition… there is Karaoke here starting at 11 pm.
The TApp Room: $2 Coors Light, $3 House Whiskey, $6 Pork BBQ Sandwich. TApp is the place to be basically every night of the week with their deals and atmosphere, but especially Fridays. This a great place to grab a quick beer and food before you have to get ready for a night out.
Saturday
The TApp Room: $3 Sweetwater 420, $3 House Rum, $4 Yosef Shots, $6 Eye-Opener Burger. If it isn’t a home game day, you can park yourself at TApp to watch the games of the day, and enjoy an awesome burger.
This is a great day to check out the other local bars that have rotating specials, like Klondike and Parthenon!
Sunday
Town Tavern: “Sunday Funday” with $3.50 Bloody Mary’s, $2 Miller Lite bottles and $4 BLT with fries. You’ll want to come here to watch the game and relax with your buddies before you have to face the reality that the work/school week is about to start up again.
Mint Café: Bottomless mimosa’s with purchase of buffet. If you’re wanting to try some great Indian cuisine, head here for Sunday brunch and get all the mimosas you want!
These are just a few of the deals Boone restaurants offer throughout the week on drinks and food for us college kids on a budget. Not to mention, most of these places offer great live music from local artists! Also, Boone has great breweries like Appalachian Mountain Brewery and The Lost Province that also have delicious food.
