5 Ways to Make Your Boyfriend’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

In my opinion, it’s a good thing to be high maintenance. When you have this much beauty, brains, and class, you deserve the best! So to all of you ladies that have a guy that treats you like a princess 24/7, try treating him like a prince every once in a while!

  • Take him to do something he loves.

Guys make a lot of sacrifices when it comes to dating. Most spend a lot of their paychecks taking us to chick flicks and fancy restaurants, so return the favor with a date directed at him. Take him to see one of his favorite bands or sporting events, or even something that may be out of your comfort zone. If he is active you could even take him to do something he’s never tried like kayaking or a ropes course.

  • Give him a backrub.

This is a great idea for a guy that is under a lot of stress or had a bad day at work. Look up some basic backrub techniques to help him feel at ease. You could even make a night of it by watching one of his favorite movies while you pamper him by rubbing his feet, back, and even temples if he has a headache. This may be something he’s never tried, so he may love being put in a more vulnerable position.

  • Make him dinner.

Sometimes cooking a meal can be more meaningful than buying gifts or giving a compliment because it takes more time and effort. Even though keeping an eye on a tray of lasagna is a sweet gesture he will be much more impressed with these ideas…

  1. Make his favorite food from home. If it wouldn’t weird him out, call his mom and ask her how to make it. Even if it isn’t as good as hers, he will still appreciate the effort and it will make him feel at home.
  2. Surprise him with breakfast in bed. Nothing beats waking up to the smell of bacon. Treating him when he first wakes up will make him feel like a king.
  3. If your boyfriend is a good cook, ask him to teach you how to make something if that’s more your style.
  • Leave him notes.

Nothing puts a smile on someone’s face like finding an unexpected note. Try putting sticky notes in areas that coordinate with the message. For instance, put notes on his mirror that reflect on his looks, and put letters in his backpack that brag on his intelligence.

  • Buy him a gift for no reason.

Think about something your boyfriend really needs or keeps forgetting to buy. He will think you are sweet for remembering what he liked, or for noticing something he could use badly. You can also use this as an opportunity to fix something you hate like seeing his toe poke through an old pair of socks!

The best way to make your boyfriend feel special is to find out what makes him feel loved. Check out the 5 love languages online to find out his, and yours!
