The Ultimate Workout Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

Exercising… it can be so boring sometimes. It’s already a difficult task to run on the treadmill, lift weights, or even do abs. But something that keeps me going is my music. With a good workout playlist, I’m able to keep a good rhythm going and keep my eyes off the clock. My workout playlist consists of upbeat music, which I tend to blast. That way, I’ll be able to tune out everything around me and just focus on my workout. Here’s some of the music that’s in my workout playlist.

Follow Running Foxes by The Jane Doze

The Jane Doze is an electronic/pop band that makes different mash-ups of various songs. What I love about them is that they also have some songs that are 30-45 minutes long. This way, I won’t have to worry about skipping songs. Plus, the songs tend to keep the same rhythm throughout which really helps me keep my rhythm.

I Love It by Icona Pop

Icona Pop is a Swedish pop duo. Their single, “I Love It”, features British singer Charlie XCX. Right away, this song keeps me going, especially when I run. Its upbeat rhythm makes it so easy for me to workout to.

Down With the Trumpets by Rizzle Kicks

“Down With the Trumpets” is the second single for British hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks. Like their other songs, “Down With the Trumpets” keeps a great rhythm that makes me feel so motivated when I workout. Their other songs are definitely worth checking out.

Greyhound by Swedish House Mafia

Swedish House Mafia is a Swedish electronic dance music trio. They have numerous upbeat songs that are included in my workout playlist. One of my favorites is “Greyhound.” Although this song doesn’t have any lyrics, the music makes it a great one to run to.

Sunlight by Modestep

“Sunlight” is a great workout song by the London-based dubstep and electronic rock band Modestep. Although the first few seconds do start a bit slow, it later goes straight into an awesome upbeat rhythm that I recommend adding to your workout playlist.

Heads Will Roll by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Yeah Yeah Yeahs is an American indie rock band. Their second single, “Heads Will Roll” is a great song to workout to. Whether its running or abs, I love listening to this song. It definitely keeps me motivated during my routine.

For an awesome upbeat workout playlist, I recommend looking into other songs by these artists. If you want to find other artists like the ones listed above or even your own favorite artists, I suggest using tastekid. It’s a great site to help you find other musical artists just like the ones you love. So before your next workout, make yourself a great playlist that’ll be sure to keep you going.
