Oscar de la Renta was an Dominican designer who over the past five decades created couture that was expertly crafted and elegant. As he once said, “My role as a fashion designer is to make a woman feel her very best.” He was known for dressing many famous women such as First Ladies Jacqueline Kennedy, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama, to A-list celebrities, his designs were never absent from the red carpet. At 82, Mr. de la Renta will be remembered in the fashion world for his iconic designs and paving the way for future designers to come.
