Living Your Best Life on Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Adelphi chapter.

Spring Break is quickly approaching and if you’re like me, a broke college student, you have nothing planned. All your friends have booked a trip to a warm, sandy beach in Mexico, sipping mimosas, living up their dreams…

Don’t stress, I’m going to tell you everything you need to do to live your best life during spring break.

First, if you really want to reap the benefits of my tips, get all of your school work and assignments done the week before spring break. This eliminates any stress of needing to complete assignments. To live your best life, you need to be stress free.

Now that you are free from any assignments, let’s start living our best lives.

1.   Spa Night

Gather your favorite face mask, nail polish, and a glass of wine (if you’re of age, i.e. 21+). You deserve to treat yourself. If you want to be a little fancy make yourself a platter with some grapes, crackers, and cheese. If you’re vegan, supplement the cheese with vegan cheese!

Wait, before you even start, play some calm, soothing music. You know your taste in music, so play what you like!

Once you’re in your zone, apply your face mask, paint your nails, and just enjoy your snacks. This is essential to kick off living your best life on spring break.

2.   Netflix and Chill

This is your moment to binge watch all the shows you missed because of classes, exams, and all the stress that comes with being a college student. I personally recommend watching Supernatural, everyone loves a little demon, and angel action, right?

If you don’t have Netflix, that’s completely fine! You can still find your favorite TV show on demand, and you can even stream free movies online!

3.   Read, Read, Read!

This is for all my bookworms out there! Spring Break is the perfect time to start knocking out some of those books you were meaning to read. I know I have quite a few books I was meaning to read, and will definitely be reading them during my spring break.

4.   Yoga

If you’re anything like me, you’re not flexible at all. However, yoga can be very relaxing. YouTube has so many different beginner Yoga videos, just stream one, and follow along!

5.   Get Enough Sleep

College students tend to sleep less during the semesters. If you have bags under your eyes, you need to sleep! Use spring break to catch up on sleep. You’ll feel 10x better!

Spring Break is your moment to live your best life! Follow these tips and you’ll be feeling like a whole new person. You don’t need to be on a beach, although that sounds amazing, to be enjoying your break.

Liysha Severe

Adelphi '19

Hello! My name is Liysha (lee-sha), it’s actually really easy to pronounce. I’m a pre-law undergraduate with a major in biology. Shocking...I know. I enjoy chilling on a rainy Sunday afternoon watching scary movies with a nice cup of hot chocolate. I’m a huge bookworm, with a slight obsession with Norse mythology. I live and breathe everything Vikings. My friends describe me as easy going, a great listener, and extremely loyal. Fun fact, I’m currently working on a book and I’m super duper stoked about it.
