How should a couple approach this conflict during Halloween season? According to psychologist Dr. Joanne Witkower, the ability to compromise with each other is essential for a relationship. She says, “we’re making a choice of something that both of us can feel the holiday spirit, but also respect the fact that we’re afraid of certain things or we don’t like certain things.” Therefore, if one person prefers to go to a pumpkin patch and the other prefers a haunted house, perhaps chose a location that offers both experiences.
