The Winter Gardens at Duthie Park are the perfect place for a weekend wander and another hidden treasure of the city. Just a short car ride from the city on the banks of the River Dee, its a great way to spend an aftertoon. Take a walk around the main park and then take a wander into the David Welch Winter Gardens. These hot houses are immaculately kept and stunningly colourful and they’re even free (though please leave a kind donation!). As well as beautiful flowers to look at there’s also ponds of goldfish and coy fish as well as some particularly cool terrapins.
