Cosy dates and cocktails
Who doesn’t love a girly catch-up over dinner and cocktails? We certainly do! But where is the best place in Aberdeen to go to for such an evening? Well we’ve made it our mission to find the best places in Aberdeen for you to drink and dine. A few of the Her Campus girlies and friends headed along to Ninety Nine Bar & Kitchen in Aberdeen last week to sample their extensive range of cocktails and foodie treats. Don’t say we’re not good to you.
The restaurant/bar itself is really rustic and cosy and perfect for this time of year. It has quite a casual feel about it and the place is lit up by groups of candles in the corners and windows. We started off by perusing their extensive cocktail menus with our favourite of the night being a Tango del Rose (which is Beefeater gin, lemon juice, strawberry and champagne syrup topped with prosecco). The best bit about the drinks was that the bar tenders are happy to make any cocktail you like whether it is on the menu or not: that’s what we call good service!
Next we moved on to food where we started off with some tasty nachos. For our main courses the majority of us went for Ninety Nine’s famous burgers. I had a delicious pork and apple burger and the Back Wynd burgers and roast vegetable burgers went down extremely well too! I am normally a very slow eater so for me to wolf it down was a feat. Hats off to the chef!
The only downside to our evening was the fact that the service was a little slow, especially since it was a weekday evening! However, we weren’t too bothered as there was lots of chatting to be had between courses.
This restaurant is definitely a good shout for a cosy winter date or a leisurely meal!
