The news that Angelina Jolie had filed for divorce from Brad Pitt shocked the world. They are arguably two of the most beautiful people on the planet and were Hollywood’s golden couple for years. Of course, we all know that Brad betrayed his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston by having an affair with Jolie whilst they were filming Mr & Mrs Smith and this is a fact which has never been forgotten by gossip columnists and journalists the world over. So when the news broke that ‘Brangelina’ were divorcing, attention quickly turned to what Aniston had to say about the situation. She is now happily married to Justin Theroux after years of media speculation that she would never find anyone to replace Brad.

After years of being separated, why do the media think that Jen still cares about what happens to Brad? I know what it’s like to have people ‘updating’ you on how your ex is doing and it is very annoying! I don’t care how they are, we broke up for a reason. This media hype surrounding Jennifer’s reaction lead Twitter to go crazy with memes of Aniston’s character in Friends, Rachel Green and no doubt she saw some of these tweets. As her husband Justin pointed out, “As a child of divorce, all I can say is that’s terrible news for those children, and that’s all you can really say.” The six children that Pitt and Jolie share are the ones who will suffer the most and they are the ones we should be thinking of and being respectful to.

Why should she be fazed??

Are the media honestly expecting Jen to release a statement claiming that ‘justice has been served’ or ‘Karma’s a bitch’? The end of Brangelina is going to be messy and complicated (as we’ve already seen with claims that Pitt has been investigated by the FBI for child abuse allegations) without Jennifer being involved. Surely the fact that she is now happily married shows everyone that she simply doesn’t care about Brad and his life anymore? Just let her get on with her life, as she has been doing for the past 12 years!
