Starbucks’ Summer Menu Remix Taught Me So Many Customization Hacks

Nothing is as bittersweet as the end of summer, and if you’re anything like me, you’re not quite ready for PSL season just yet. If you want to hang on to cool drinks and warm summer days for a bit longer, all you need to do is head to your local Starbucks — because the Starbucks Summer Menu Remix is a great way to ring in the end of the season.

For a limited time, Starbucks is offering new twists on three favorite drinks when you order in the app or in-store. All of them are a perfect way to wind down your summer days, and the variety means there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a coffee fan or tea girlie, love matcha or hate it, or whether you want something sweet or refreshing. The best part? Even after these drinks are gone from the official menu, you can always customize your drinks in the app — Starbucks even has a guide full of these hacks, which I know I’ll be referencing the next time I go to order.

Iced Chai Tea Latte With Matcha Cream Cold Foam

Starting off with my personal favorite of the three drinks, the Iced Chai Tea Latte with Matcha Cream Cold Foam is a fun upgrade to the regular Iced Chai Tea Latte that’s become my go-to at Starbucks. Topping the drink with Matcha Cream Cold Foam adds a new but not overbearing flavor that mixes well with the chai, and is perfect for those who want a bit of caffeine but hate coffee. (P.S. if chai isn’t your thing, but you still want to add cold foam to a drink, just hit the “Customize” button in the app, select “Add Cold Foam,” and then choose from the list of flavors. Easy-peasy!)

Blended Iced Black Tea Lemonade

Next up is the perfect drink to beat the summer heat: the Blended Iced Black Tea Lemonade. I got to try all three of the new drinks in store, but this is the one I took home with me — blending this drink turned it into a treat resembling an iced tea slushie that had me saying, “Ahhh.” If you loved the Frozen Lemonade Refreshers that Starbucks introduced earlier this summer, this drink is right up your alley. And now that I know you can blend pretty much any drink by going to “Customize” and then “Add Blended,” I’m gonna be doing this all the time.

Chocolate Cream Cold Brew With Caramel Syrup in a Caramel Lined Cup

Finally, if you’ve got a sweet tooth (same) and need caffeine to get through the day, the Chocolate Cream Cold Brew with Caramel Syrup in a Caramel Lined Cup will be perfect for you. This one is chocolatey, strong, and sweet like dessert, with a caramel sauce-lined cup so you get coffee, caramel, and chocolate in every sip. An absolute dream, TBH. Plus, after the Summer Menu Remix is gone, this one is easy to recreate: Hit “Customize,” scroll down to “Add Line the Cup,” and choose caramel sauce (or whichever sauce you want).

The Summer Menu Remix is a great way to branch out a little in your Starbucks order if you always get the same thing, and it’s a helpful reminder that you can customize literally anything on their menu to get something new. Beyond cold foam, blending, and lining the cup, the “Customize” button in the app has options to add syrups, sauces, extra shots, whipped cream, lemonade, powders, and more. Even after these three new drinks are gone from the menu, I know I’ll still be ordering my Iced Chai Tea Lattes with Matcha Cream Cold Foam. Yum!
