Starbucks, the mother of all coffee shops, had quite the bash this year. On Oct. 10, the company celebrated the 20th anniversary of its most infamous drink, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Fans enjoyed plenty of birthday festivities at local retailers and with in-app surprises. As we’ve settled into the holiday season, Starbucks has begun to roll out its collection of holiday-inspired mugs and tumblers. Unfortunately, though — hold your breath, besties — according to the brand, Starbucks’ Brewed Coffee Refill Tumbler that gets you free coffee in January won’t be coming back to stores this year. I know you’re distraught, but don’t fret. There are plenty of wintery surprises in store with Starbucks!
Those who are big fans of Starbucks know about the tumbler that would get you free coffee in January. Every December, the chain would offer a specific tumbler for purchase in stores. When you purchased that tumbler, you could bring it to any participating Starbucks location on any day in January for a free refill of hot or iced coffee. But for 2023, the free coffee in January tumbler is not being offered. Sob!
Don’t worry, though. This holiday season, Starbucks enthusiasts and coffee connoisseurs can still enjoy the love and coffee beans of the season. Every Thursday for the rest of December, Starbucks Rewards members will receive 50% off any drink from 12-6 p.m. local time. Members will receive that 50% off coupon in the Starbucks app as well, which can be applied to orders ahead of time and in-store. This deal can be super useful when ordering Starbucks’ holiday additions to the drink menu, like the Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai, the Peppermint Chocolate Cream Cold Foam, Sugar Cookie Cream Cold Foam, Chestnut Praline Cream Cold Foam, and the rich Caramel Brulee Cream Cold Foam.
And if that weren’t enough, you can also take part in Starbucks For Life, the brand’s ongoing holiday game that gives you the chance to win a ton of different prizes, including a holiday Stanley tumbler, a $1,000 Delta gift card, or even the grand prize of 30 years of free Starbucks.
