Chipotle’s Back-To-School 2026 Deals Are A Lesson In Saving Money

Back-to-school season can be super stressful, and the return to campus usually means a return to the bland dining hall food that you definitely didn’t miss about your university. Luckily, Chipotle has always known how to look out for college kids, especially with promotions like its rewards program that offers monthly free food. The brand isn’t stopping there, though. Now, Chipotle is offering more free options specifically for the start of the fall semester — because if there’s one thing that can make going back to school better, it’s free Chipotle.

On Aug. 17, Chipotle announced its School Spirit BOGO and three weeks of “Chipotle Sundays,” giving students multiple ways to get free food as they settle back into their routines and set up their dorms. The School Spirit BOGO deal only asks you to show off your school spirit, while “Chipotle Sundays” will help you round out your Sunday reset with a free meal before your classes start back up again on Monday. Plus, Chipotle offers an extra incentive for college students to join its ongoing Chipotle U Rewards program.

With these deals and promos, it’s obvious that Chipotle knows how to speak to college students. Here’s everything to know about how to score some free Chipotle this back-to-school season.

School Spirit BOGO

Chipotle’s School Spirit BOGO, which will be available after 3 p.m. on Aug. 20, allows anyone wearing school apparel or accessories, from elementary school to college, to purchase one entrée and get a second entrée free. It’s never been easier to enjoy the rewards of repping your school.

“Chipotle Sundays” was born from TikTok, where the trend showed creators heading to Chipotle as part of their end-of-the-week routine. Chipotle took its chance to lean into the trend, offering a free entrée to guests who order two or more entrées after 3 p.m. on the restaurant’s app or website and use the code SUNDAYS. The program will be offered for three consecutive Sundays at the start of the semester — Aug. 23, Aug. 30, and Sept. 6 — perfect timing for helping you unwind from your first couple of weeks of class.

Chipotle U Rewards

Chipotle also offers a welcome gift of 1,000 points when you join the Chipotle U Rewards program online. The program is offered exclusively for college students and allows you to get rewards 20% faster than the normal rewards program, meaning you get 12 points for every dollar you spend instead of 10. The program is free to join, and it lets you redeem your points for free food, with different menu items adding up to different amounts of points.
