Terrible News: Taylor Swift Might Be Taking a Break from Music

If we could name one person who definitely has it all, it would be Taylor Swift. She’s wrapping up her amazingly star-studded 1989 tour, is the most followed person on Instagram and has the ULTIMATE girl squad. Amidst all of this, Taylor has revealed the most shocking news of all: She might be taking a break.

We’ll give you all a moment to take a collective gasp.

In a recent interview with NME she revealed, “I think I should take some time off. I think people might need a break from me. I’m going to… I don’t know. Hang out with my friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don’t know.”

Obviously, Tay-Tay is more than deserving of some time off; she’s been tackling more this year alone than most of us could handle in a lifetime. But that certainly doesn’t mean we’re not in a slight state of panic, because we sort of rely on Taylor for everything from break-up playlists to girl power anthems. And what exactly will this break entail? Will we still get frequent updates about Meredith and Olivia? Will she still be posting FOMO-inducing Instagram photos of baking with her BFFs? We’re not quite ready to have any less of Taylor in our lives, that’s for sure.

Rachel graduated from the Honors College at James Madison University in May 2017 and is pursuing a career in the media/PR industry. She majored in Media Arts & Design with a concentration in journalism and minored in Spanish and Creative Writing. She loves spending time with friends and family, traveling, and going to the beach.
