Kim Kardashian Thought She Had a Miscarriage When She Was Pregnant With North

Dedicated viewers of Keeping Up With the Kardashians know pregnancy wasn’t easy for Kim Kardashian. During both her pregnancies, she experienced placenta accreta, meaning doctors had to remove the placenta by hand because it didn’t detach from the uterine wall. She described the procedure on her blog as “the most painful experience of my life.”

However, fans are about to get the emotional, painful truth of how tough her pregnancy with daughter North really was during Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ 10th Anniversary Special, Refinery29 reports.

Kim knew pregnancy was not going to be easy for her, and she even considered freezing her eggs. According to Kardashian, when she first found out she was pregnant, she was more afraid than excited. “I remember calling [Kanye] and he thought a family member of mine had died, I was so hysterical,” she said. “I thought my life was over, that I was pregnant and [it was going to be] so hard for me.”

Throughout her pregnancy with North, Kim endured extreme stomach pain and even thought she’d had a miscarriage. “At one point I thought I had a miscarriage, I was pretty certain about it,” she said.

On Thanksgiving, she flew home to see her doctor and was told, “There’s no heartbeat. You had a miscarriage.” However, the next morning, during a private appointment, they found a heartbeat.

Now, four years later, North West is an adorable big sister to little brother Saint, with another sibling on the way. Although this time, Kim and Kanye opted to use a surrogate.

The KUWTK 10th Anniversary Special includes unaired footage of this turbulent time in Kim’s life, so be prepared for an emotional roller coaster.
