'The Bachelor': Arie Claims He Filmed the Breakup to Help Becca & I'm Confused

When you’re breaking up with someone, it’s totally normal to think you’re doing them a favor by setting them free to pursue other more fruitful relationships. Of course, in his own twisted way The Bachelor’s Arie Luyendyk Jr. wanted the same thing for his now-ex, Becca Kufrin.

However, when the little devil on his shoulder suggested that he film the breakup for all of America to see, Arie must’ve said, “I love that.” And what was the logic behind this poor decision? To make Becca the next Bachelorette, or so he claims.

In an interview with Good Morning America, Arie admitted to wanting public closure."I really wanted everyone to know that this was on me. This was my fault,” he said. “And I felt like filming that would let people know that, that if there were any questions on the breakup, those would be squashed if they saw the breakup. And I wanted her that opportunity, honestly, I wanted her that opportunity to be the potential Bachelorette."

Claiming to only want happiness for Becca, Arie continued, "I'm very happy for her. I'm happy that she's going to be able to find her true love through the show. This ending obviously wasn't perfect and I know it was difficult for a lot of people to swallow, but I'm happy.”

Whether the breakup was filmed or not, it’s probable that Becca would’ve been chosen for The Bachelorette because she deserves love more than anyone right now.
