The “Woot Woot” Sound From ‘Euphoria’ Is Going Viral On TikTok & It’s Hilarious

Season 3 of Euphoria is finally going to be released on April 12, but apparently, fans are still hung up on the first two seasons. The signature, doomsday-synth soundtrack from Season 1 has resurfaced the internet, but this time, satirically. The major hit “Mount Everest” is going viral on TikTok, and I’m sorry Labrinth, but it’s hilarious.

Whether it’s in anticipation of the show’s long-awaited return or just some random nostalgia for 2019, the seven-year-old song is trending, with TikTokers clipping dramatic scenes from earlier seasons overlaid with text making fun of themselves and the characters. For example, you know that iconic transition of Nate Jacobs (played by Jacob Elordi)’s ripped back hunched over his bathroom sink? Well, @dookiebreaff on TikTok interprets this pivotal moment as “me doing secret workouts in my room once.”

This user is not alone in their viral use of the sound. From depressing scenes of Cal Jacobs (Eric Dane) to embarrassing moments from Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), the Euphoria memes, all to “Mount Everest,” are relentless.

Users are calling the electronic synth sound of the song “WOOT WOOT.” In fact, if you search “woot woot euphoria clip,” a slew of these memes will flood your feed.

Unfortunately, this Euphoria trend starts and ends with “Mount Everest” because we probably won’t have new Labrinth music to turn into viral TikTok sounds this season. On March 13, he spoke out against his record label and the TV show on Instagram, writing, “I’M DONE WITH THIS INDUSTRY, F–K COLUMBIA. DOUBLE F–K EUPHORIA.” Labrinth has been producing hits for Euphoria and working closely with the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, since the series premiered in 2019. He was thoroughly involved in composing, producing, and sometimes singing on the songs on the soundtracks for seasons one and two.

It’s unclear whether or not Labrinth’s music will be featured in the third season, since he teased new music on Instagram on March 4 with the caption “04.10.26,” possibly referring to his upcoming score for the third season.

Regardless, if the resurgence of the old song is any indication, fans are eager for Euphoria Season 3, even though it seems like music won’t be the only thing that’s different this time around.

Only time will tell how the latest season will compare to the unparalleled drama and intrigue of the first two seasons of Euphoria. In the meantime, fans will take to the internet to create viral videos of the characters, and reminisce on some of their most iconic moments.

My name is Isabelle Farina, I am a senior Journalism student at the University of Georgia receiving a minor in Law, Ethics and Philosophy and a certificate in Film and Media Scoring. While I’ve been having my fun in the south, I’m definitely a Jersey Girl at heart. I'm from a small town in New Jersey, so I love splitting my time between the beach and New York City. Because of my proximity to such a vivacious city,I love all things pop culture; books, movies, TV, music, you name it, I am definitely interested in it.

The most important goal of mine is to be able to channel my passions for media and storytelling into a lifelong career. My dream job would be to be an entertainment reporter for a culture magazine or write for the arts and culture columns of a newspaper. I have always been fascinated by celebrity culture and how audiences get so attached to people they don't even know just because of the art they create or are involved in.

To pursue my passion thus far, I have gotten involved with fashion magazines on campus and written culture articles for local publications. The power of the media is so intriguing to me and I realize how important it is to society. I want to be a part of the action.
