Spoiler alert: Spoilers for Love Is Blind Season 11 follow. Is it really a season of Love Is Blind if a person doesn’t leave the show immediately after seeing the person they got engaged to, sight unseen? ICYMI, Season 11 of Love Is Blind included another wild breakup, resulting in one person, Jax, leaving the show. But why did Jax and Stew break up, and why did Jax choose to leave the show? It was messy, to say the least.
Love Is Blind Season 11 follows the classic format of the show, just in a new city. In Season 11, a group of Boston-based singles signed up to date each other without seeing each other. In a span of 10 days, the singles tried to form connections and, eventually, some decided to get engaged and finally meet face-to-face. After that, the couples’ relationships are put to the test when they move in together, meet each other’s friends and families, and eventually stand at the altar and decide whether or not to get married. Pretty normal pace for a relationship, NBD.
This season, skin care entrepreneur Jax and director of engineering Stew formed a strong connection in the pods and got engaged in Episode 4. Initially, Jax was excited to see Stew, saying that the engagement “meant a lot” to her. However, once the two finally saw each other, the vibe completely shifted: Jax immediately tensed up, continually saying that the whole ordeal was “so weird” and telling Stew he was more of a “Mitt Romney” type, rather than a “Kennedy.” Damn.
Afterwards, Jax sat down with producers and told them she would like to leave the show, comparing Stew to Mitt Romney (again) and saying that she couldn’t meet with Stew to break things off. Jax didn’t give a concrete reason as to why she wanted to leave, but hinted that she wasn’t physically attracted to Stew, saying that she “didn’t want to be mean.” And, with that, Jax left the show — and left Stew hanging.
After Jax decided to leave the show, producers called Stew back into the confessional and delivered the news — which he was totally confused by. Producers also told Stew that Jax, apparently, asked them not to provide her contact information to Stew.
Are Jax and Stew still together?
Obviously, Stew was blindsided by the breakup. When he asked producers if they were still engaged, or even dating, they told him that was for him to “figure out,” simply telling him that Jax decided to leave the show. Stew still said that the show was a positive experience, and that he was going to go to Boston to “see what happens.” So, while Jax didn’t technically break up with Stew — and production didn’t label their relationship (or lack thereof) afterwards — it’s safe to assume that yes, the two were completely broken up by the end of Episode 5.
Still, there are more episodes of Love Is Blind Season 11 to be released! So, who knows — maybe we’ll officially get closure on Jax and Stew in the coming episodes. And, if not, there’s always the reunion.
