If you haven’t heard of Alix Earle, she’s a 22-year-old University of Miami student that’s currently blowing up on TikTok. She’s constantly hopping from event to event and vacation to vacation, while somehow balancing the pursuit of a college education. She became viral in part due to her “get ready with me” TikTok videos. Like most TikTok influencers, Earle has created a wake around her, in which her friends’ and families’ lives are just as interesting to her fans and followers. One of Earle’s closest friends is Alexandra Pohl, aka Xandra Pohl.
Pohl is from Ohio, but Earle and Pohl met at the University of Miami, where they both attend college. Some of their content together dates back to early 2021. Just as entertaining, Pohl’s content revolves around similar themes to Earle’s — “get ready with me” videos, stories of attending school in Miami, and of course, tales of her “party and rally” lifestyle. According to her LinkedIn, Pohl is a marketing major at UMiami with a minor in music business, and she’s set to graduate in 2023.
What To Know About AleXandra Pohl
In addition to being as on-trend and personable as Earle, Pohl is a DJ. As she recounted on TikTok, Pohl said she was initially inspired to pursue music after seeing Alison Wonderland at a music festival. She came home from that weekend and bought her first DJ board. Reflecting on that time in her life, she said she had just split from her long-term high school boyfriend and wanted to do something that revolved around her for a change.
Pohl’s first gig was her small high school’s homecoming. When she started school at the University of Miami, she started playing at fraternities, and by the time she was 18, she played at her first nightclub. Today, she DJs for some of the most popular clubs in Miami, with sets starting as late as 3 a.m., and somehow stays on top of her academics. So basically, she’s a superhuman.
As an 18-year-old female pursuing a DJ career, Pohl commented that her initial attraction to the University of Miami was in part due to its music scene. For those unfamiliar with the city of Miami, it has a rather posh nightlife scene, consisting of late nights and loud music. You can hear electronic dance music (EDM) at fraternities and clubs alike across the city.
Whether or not Earle and Pohl become mainstays in the TikTok world, I’m just grateful to have a few new fave influencers to follow.
