I’m just gonna cut right to the chase: Who TF is Emma from “When Emma Falls In Love” from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)?! This vault track was the one I was the most excited for because of all the theories about Emma, and who she is, leading up to the release. Swifties were quick to connect the dots and figure out who Emma is, and they believe the song points to a celebrity, and relationship, we all know and love.
According to Twitter fans, “When Emma Falls In Love” is allegedly about one of my favorite celebrity relationships of all time: Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. Given that this song was written during the Speak Now era in 2010, it all makes perfect sense. The timeline is nearly perfect: Speak Now was released on October 25, 2010 and Emma and Andrew met on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in December 2010, according to PEOPLE. (OK so this basically means Taylor predicted it?).
The picture-perfect couple was spotted on a date together in late November of 2010, and the rest is history. They had a brief split in April of 2015, but were spotted together again that same May. Ultimately, the couple broke up in late October 2015, but the love these two have for each other is like an “Electric Touch.”
You’re probably wondering how Taylor connects to all of us. (Don’t worry bestie, I’ll tell you.) Taylor has the coolest group of gal pals, and Emma Stone is one of them. They met in April of 2008 at the Young Hollywood Awards and the rest is history, according to PEOPLE. These two have a special friendship, so special that Taylor had to write a song about it (allegedly).
While I hope this song is about them, some people think it’s about Emma and Kieran Culkin. The timeline matches up better, but this relationship is not talked about much, so that’s why the focus is being placed on Andrew and Emma.
So, we still don’t really know if this song is about Emma and Andrew’s relationship or if it’s simply about what will happen when a fictional Emma falls in love. Nonetheless, Twitter has done some digging…
These Tweets of Emma & Andrew have me crying:
Some people think it’s about Emma Stone and Kieran Culkin because of the timeline.
IDK what to believe, but all I know is Emma is one lucky girl. Taylor Swift writing a song about you, that is nothing but positive, is something to brag about, IMHO.
