The Funniest Victoria & Brooklyn Beckham Wedding Memes Have Taken Over The Internet

ICYMI, Brooklyn Beckham posted a series of Instagram Stories on Jan. 19 about his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, and how his relationship with them has broken down. One of the key takeaways from his posts was his account of his mom, Victoria Beckham, apparently stealing his first dance away from him during his wedding to Nicola Peltz in 2022.

Of course, this was no ordinary mother-son dance. Beckham said in his IG Stories that the performance was “very inappropriate,” to the point where he had never felt “more uncomfortable or humiliated in [his] entire life.” This scene could just be hearsay, but a blind tip submitted to Deuxmoi back in 2022 basically confirmed something weird went down during the oldest Beckham son’s wedding.

Since Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham had a phone-free wedding, there seems to be no footage circulating of the now-infamous “inappropriate” dance between Beckham and his mom. So, the internet took to their own devices and recreated how they imagined this dance went down in a series of hilarious memes that have taken over social media.

This trend is especially fun, though, because the users are capitalizing on the word’ “inappropriate” to create over-the-top demonstrations that you probably wouldn’t see at a wedding. Certainly, not from a mom and her son (at least, I hope not). From AI-generated photos of Victoria doing the splits to a club remix of “Taste” by Sabrina Carpenter, the internet’s creativity is honestly commendable.

The Beckham family drama has been rumored for years, but the internet and their vast imaginations have only magnified this latest piece of gossip. Along with making memes, you can also always count on the internet to share their opinions. There seems to be no general consensus, with people split down the middle. One user siding with Beckham’s parents wrote on X, “Imagine being ungrateful being born into a billionaire family. Absolutely ridiculous. Hasn’t got a patch of his parents talent, doesn’t work, just moans. I’d be embarrassed.” Another, backed the younger Beckham, writing on Deuxmoi’s Instagram post, “He’s going hard for his wife and I’m here for it.”

Either way, Brooklyn Beckham brought his family baggage to the internet, and the internet ran with it. You know what they say — all press is good press, and for Beckham, his strategy for getting the media’s attention is putting his family at the center of the viral news cycle.

My name is Isabelle Farina, I am a senior Journalism student at the University of Georgia receiving a minor in Law, Ethics and Philosophy and a certificate in Film and Media Scoring. While I’ve been having my fun in the south, I’m definitely a Jersey Girl at heart. I'm from a small town in New Jersey, so I love splitting my time between the beach and New York City. Because of my proximity to such a vivacious city,I love all things pop culture; books, movies, TV, music, you name it, I am definitely interested in it.

The most important goal of mine is to be able to channel my passions for media and storytelling into a lifelong career. My dream job would be to be an entertainment reporter for a culture magazine or write for the arts and culture columns of a newspaper. I have always been fascinated by celebrity culture and how audiences get so attached to people they don't even know just because of the art they create or are involved in.

To pursue my passion thus far, I have gotten involved with fashion magazines on campus and written culture articles for local publications. The power of the media is so intriguing to me and I realize how important it is to society. I want to be a part of the action.
