Twitter Has Officially Crowned Vanessa The Villain Of ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’

Whether you want to believe it or not, everyone loves a villain. Even if we’re not a fan of their behavior, sometimes, we can’t help but to become enthralled with a villain… especially on reality television. For instance, when Love Is Blind Season 4 came out, the world couldn’t stop talking about the infamous Shelby — for better or for worse. Now, with the release of The Ultimatum: Queer Love, the internet can’t stop talking about a new TV villain: Vanessa.

Now, before I get any further, let me explain exactly what The Ultimatum: Queer Love even is. Like its sister show, The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On, the show focuses on five couples, or 10 contestants, who issue each other an ultimatum: either get married or break up, forever. From there, the couples split up and choose to date one other person for three weeks to see if they truly want to be with their original partner (which, IMHO, makes no sense). After those weeks, then the couples decide if they want to be together, start dating someone new, or leave single. Season 1 featured all straight couples, while The Ultimatum: Queer Love highlights five queer couples with female and non-binary partners.

All of this to say, the show gets really messy. And in the midst of the mess, Vanessa has emerged as one of the season’s villains. Originally with her partner Xander, Vanessa is the one issued the ultimatum — and right off of the bat, she seemingly hops into dating around. However, once Xander said they wanted to explore their connection with Yoly, Vanessa burst into tears. Not to mention, she flirted with both Lexi and Rae, who came onto the show as a couple, in front of each other, which much of the cast found to be disrespectful. Mix those with a perceived “mean girl” attitude, and you’ve got yourself a villain.

Naturally, the internet has a lot to say about it… especially on Twitter. The consensus? The internet can’t trust her.

However, some people are thirsting despite it all.

But as for the rest of the internet, they’re not willing to look past the toxic behavior.

Some are even comparing her to other popular TV characters and cast members.

One thing is for sure, and it’s that Twitter is Team Xander… for now.
