At this point, no one can deny that Taylor Swift knows how to have a good time. On Dec. 13, the pop star celebrated her 34th birthday at the Box Nightclub in Manhattan. The dress code seemed to be all black or black and white since everyone present was seen wearing one of those colors, and Swift herself wore a dazzling black dress adorned with gems and stars. Guests present included Sabrina Carpenter, Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, and more.
While Swift and her guests looked incredible, the main thing that caught people’s attention was the huge ring that could be seen on her finger in some of the photos. The ring looked to have a white oval shape in the middle and a blue border. It’s alleged that the singer may have received the ring as a birthday gift since there is a viral photo of Swift showing the ring to Keleigh and Miles Teller.
In it, the couple looked very intrigued by the jewelry piece. Tiktoker @swiftieinc made a video about this interaction and the ring, sharing that she believes the round white oval is the gemstone Opal, and the blue border could be Blue Topaz. If this is true, then the gift would be the sweetest thing ever, considering the singer’s love for Opals.
Swift has shared before that she thought the gem was beautiful. She told US Weekly in 2017, “…when I was bullied in school, my mom used to take me to T.J. Maxx…to look at the opal jewelry. I thought opals were so beautiful, and somehow it made me feel better. We never bought them, just looked.” So if someone actually gifted her an opal ring, it probably meant a lot.
In the same TikTok video, the creator explained who she believed gifted Swift the ring. She noted that Blue Topaz is the birthstone for December so it would make sense why the border of the ring would be that gem. However, Opal is the birthstone for October. And who’s born in October? Kansas City Chie’s tight end Travis Kelce, of course. Now, to be clear, none of this has been confirmed.
The interesting thing about this situation is that the same TikTok creator posted an update video on Dec. 17 that featured a screenshot of Keleigh Teller liking the original video where the Tiktoker speculated that Kelce had gifted Swift the ring.
So was Kelce the one who gave Swift this stunning ring? It turns out that he actually wasn’t. On Dec. 21, Keleigh Teller revealed on her Instagram Story that she gave Swift the opal ring. She captioned an up-close photo of the ring with, “Love this ring. I had it made for my friend, she’s bejeweled ✨✨ so to all media outlets and Melissa at deux moi here ya go!”
Teller also shared a video of Swift showing off the ring after receiving it. “This is unreal Keleigh. Opal and Blue Topaz. Wow,” the singer can be heard saying before Teller tells her “Happy Birthday.”
There you have it! Kelce didn’t give Swift her birthday ring but he did likely gift her with something on her special day. Will we ever know what it is, probably not, but leave it to Swifties to keep looking into this.
