Swifties Already Have Some Compelling ‘Speak Now (TV)’ Theories

Besties, it’s official! Taylor Swift will release Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) on July 7. The album will have 22 songs and six added songs from the Vault, making this release highly anticipated. The album was first released in 2010 and featured songs self-written by a 18- to 20-year-old Swift, making it incredibly personal and special to her catalog.

Swift took to her Instagram and wrote, “The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions, and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, failing, flying and crashing…and living to speak about it.”

As with every new Swift release, fans have already taken to social media to share their predictions and theories for this new era. Here are some of the best Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) fan theories.

Fans believe Swift will release a memoir along with the album in July.

Swifties think the memoir will hit the shelves on July 9, according to a video from Good Neighbor Bookstore, an independent bookstore in New York. The owner shared his theory about the release on the TikTok account @goodneighborbooks. His theory is based on information shared by a publisher who recently sent his store a super secret book with a release date of, you guessed it, July 9! The publisher’s request deleted the store owner’s original TikTok video detailing the theory, but the Swifties could catch it before it was gone.

Cosmopolitan’s deep dive shows that all signs point to this theory being true. One hint is the Instagram announcement post of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), which featured “Dear Reader,” the last track title on the Midnights album 3 a.m. edition.

The numbers 13 and 20 might play a role in one of the vault tracks.

This Swiftie created an entire thread dedicated to their theory of Taylor naming a vault track on Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) to honor her age while writing the album.

One Swiftie thinks a collab with Fall Out Boy could happen.

Swift and Fall Out Boy have performed together before, so if true, this collaboration could be a banger and the start of her rock era.

A rumor is circulating that a Vault track may feature Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys.

There’s not much evidence here, so this one may be wishful thinking.

Swifties are hoping for a Troye Sivan collab, too.

Again, no real “evidence” of any features on the vault tracks, but Sivan and Swift are friends and performed together on the Reputation Tour. Hopefully these fan wishes come true and we get some surprising collaborations like Lana Del Rey on “Snow On The Beach.”

Fans are also predicting vault track titles.

Swiftes, y’all might be onto something!

Swift might try out a different sound for the new songs.

Our chances might be greater than you think.

Swift could bring back non-album songs like “Crazier.”

Fingers crossed, besties!
