Taylor Swift Broke A Major Record For Winning Album Of The Year At The Grammys

It’s Grammys night and new music records have just been set! Along with announcing a new project, Taylor Swift won Album Of The Year For Midnights. And, ICYMI, it’s actually a huge deal.

Swift is the first person to win four times in the category. Previously, she was tied with the likes of Paul Simon, Frank Sinatra, and Stevie Wonder for having three AOTY Grammys. Previously, Fearless, 1989, and Folklore all were awarded Album Of The Year.

Aside from breaking records, Swift also broke the internet. When accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, she announced her forthcoming new record. The Tortured Poets Department, an LP she has kept secret for two years.

Swift brought up friend and producer Jack Antonoff, who won Producer Of The Year earlier in the evening, as well as friend and fellow Album Of The Year nominee Lana Del Rey.

Swift used her stage time to praise Lana Del Rey. “I think so many female artists would not be where they are and would not have the inspiration they have if it weren’t for the work that she’s done. I think she’s a legacy artist, a legend in her prime right now. I’m so lucky to know you and to be your friend,” she said.

She continued, “I would love to tell you that this is the best moment of my life, but I feel this happy when I finish a song, or when I crack the code to a bridge that I love, or when I’m shot-listing a music video, or when I’m rehearsing with my dancers or my band, or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show. For me, the award is the work.”

Now, with this win in her arsenal, Swift is looking ahead to the second leg of the Eras Tour, a Super Bowl watching her BF Travis Kelce, and a new album. What a way to start the year, am I right?
