OK, We *Need* To Talk About The ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ Vinyl Misprints…

When Taylor Swift released Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) on July 7, Swifties everywhere lost their minds. The lyric change in “Better Than Revenge” left a lot of Swifties confused, and the vault tracks are on repeat.

Listening to this album in the same room I listened to it when it first came out in 2010 is a major full-circle moment for me. It’s so nostalgic and really is bringing all the emotions. But, something that would make listening to Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) even more special is listening to it on vinyl. (Imagine listening to “Never Grow Up” on a record player. I’m already crying just thinking about it).

Hearing Taylor’s voice in a different tone and manner really can change the whole vibe of the album. That is why Swifites who were lucky enough to get the vinyl were so excited to listen to it on release day. But… there’s kind of an issue: The vinyl is broken for some people.

Of course, records skipping is normal. It can be distracting, but that’s just how it is. But, what is really odd (and totally creepy) is getting a Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) vinyl that’s simply not the album.

A TikTok user by the name of @mischief_marauder, real name Rachel Hunter, posted a video about her vinyl to see if anybody else had the same issues. When Hunter starts to play the vinyl on the A-side, an unknown voice starts speaking and saying totally weird things. Of course, this girl is confused AF. If this was me, I would be totally freaked out, TBH.

In hopes that the B-side is normal, Hunter flips over the vinyl to see what else she is going to listen to. But, it got even weirder. This time, a man with an old-timey voice starts talking. And he just keeps saying “There’s 70 billion people on earth. Where are they hiding?” over and over again. It is so creepy and definitely not Taylor’s Version. Is this a vault track we don’t know about?

But, Hunter is not the only one who is having issues with her Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) vinyl. While others are not having the same weird experience as her, there are issues with other peoples’ vinyls, such as skipping often or songs simply not playing.

This TikTok user by the name of @meetthe_martins posted a TikTok about their vinyl skipping from the first song.

Another user by the name of @ravenbelle_ posted that their vinyl had several issues. In their caption, they explained that “the 3rd record side E is scratched. Also Dear John skips. So.. there’s that.”

@ravenbelle_

Well, my preorder of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) finally arrived yesterday but the 3rd record Side E is scratched. Also Dear John skips. So…there’s that. Timeless is the song I was most excited for so at least that plays. I can’t even order a new one from the site because the violet one says Not Available. #SpeakNowTaylorsVersion #SNTV #SNTVvinyl #SpeakNowvinyl #SpeakNowTV #vinyl

We don’t really know what’s going on or how this happened, but all I know is Rachel Hunter needs to get a new vinyl. How can we make that happen, like, soon?
