Sofia Richie is on her way to becoming a mom of two! On Oct. 16, Richie casually posted a selfie on social media showing off a growing baby bump, announcing her second pregnancy in a seriously chill way. In the caption on Instagram, she wrote: “On my way to launch these babies 👶+ @srgatelier,” swiftly unveiling her new fashion line on the side. (You know, just effortlessly announcing a pregnancy and upcoming project in one.) Could she be cooler?
Richie’s post has already garnered thousands of likes and countless comments, all congratulating her and her husband, Elliot Grainge. The 27-year-old model and the music executive had their first daughter, Eloise, back in May 2024. Much like her first pregnancy announcement, where she posted photos of her 6-month baby bump on her personal IG, many fans were left wondering how she was able to conceal the secret again.
In interviews, Richie has mentioned that she kept her first pregnancy a secret to protect the couple’s mental health. “Pregnancy is really scary and you want to protect that space,” she told Vogue. “I didn’t realize there are so many milestones you have to hit and so many tests you have to take. For me, it was really important to protect our mental health and our space as a couple.”
Richie and Grainge married in a luxurious ceremony in the South of France in April 2023. Their romance, much like Richie’s pregnancy announcements, was also described at the time as relatively chill. The two started off as family friends, and began dating in 2021 after Richie’s split from Scott Disick in 2020. Richie and Grainge keep things relatively private online, but every now and then, we get some cute content of the two on Richie’s social media. (I love a good private-but-not-secret relationship.)
Grainge shared a rare message on Instagram just hours before Richie’s pregnancy announcement on Oct. 16, congratulating her on her new fashion line. “I usually forget I even have Instagram, so I never really post,” Grainge wrote on IG. “But today’s different… It’s the launch of my incredible wife Sofia’s fashion brand, SRG Atelier.”
Richie has been quite open about how being a mom has changed her life. “I think having a daughter made me realize the importance of feeling confident without makeup,” Richie said in her Vogue Beauty Secrets video . “I talk to her a lot about that. I love how I’m saying I talk to her a lot about that, because she’s 1 and she barely speaks, but I am convinced that she can understand me.” (I already love their mother-daughter relationship).
Fans have already taken to social media about how excited they are about baby Grainge No. 2.
While Richie has yet to announce any details of her second pregnancy, I think it’s safe to say she’ll do so in the same chill-but-confident fashion — and I can’t wait!
