Summer is just getting started, but Iâm already yearning for Halloween â especially after Universal Studiosâ huge house announcement for Halloween Horror Nights. ICYMI, Halloween Horror Nights announced on May 21 that a Sinners haunted house will be coming to both the Orlando and Hollywood parks. And while the experience isnât opening for a few months, fans are thirstier than ever â not for a classic horror nights horror-themed beverage, but for the Sinners haunted house experience itself. (Seriously, will Bo Chow be there?)
According to the Halloween Horror Nights official Instagram, the Sinners experience will take you into the Smokestack Twinsâ juke joint in 1930s Mississippi, where guests will be faced with Remmick and his group of bloodthirsty vampires. Fans will also encounter Twin brothers Smoke and Stack (who are both played by Michael B. Jordan in the film), as well as other fan favorites such as Sammie, Annie, Mary, and Pearline, while the blues âguitar screams fill the air.â
While Sinners is a horror movie, many fans have been saying that instead of running out of the house in fear, they will need to be forced out, mainly because they find the entire film cast attractive. (Who doesn’t?) It’s valid, though: The star of the film, Michael B. Jordan, was People magazine’s âSexiest Man Aliveâ in 2020. Here’s to hoping he’ll make an appearance!
Unlike the typical posts of speculation and nervous anticipation that usually come after a horror night’s announcement, coming face to face with Michael B. Jordan lookalikes has fans excited rather than scared to go through the house. A fan even commented on the official Horror Nights Instagram announcement post, âMY DREAM OF MICHAEL B JORDAN JUMPING ME CAN FINALLY COME TRUE.â Along with this, TikTok users have been posting themselves in cute outfits and makeup, saying this is how they plan to walk through the house to try and bag a scare actor.
Similar comments and posts have flooded other social media platforms like X and TikTok after the announcement, and not only about Michael B. Jordan: many queer women are also excited to come face-to-face with female characters like Mary, played by Hailey Steinfeld.
This announcement has clearly left fans, including myself, dying to get a bite of this house in the fall. This is only the second house that Universalâs Horror Nights has announced, with the first being for this year’s horror nights icons, âJack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control.â With eight houses still to be announced, Iâm excited to see what other terrifying, and sometimes sexy, fantasies Universalâs Horror Nights might make come to life this upcoming Halloween season.
