The Met Gala Red Carpet Closed Before Rihanna Got There & Twitter Blew Up

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky did not arrive in time for the 2023 Met Gala red carpet and fans on Twitter are surprised, angry, sad, and everything in between. This is not the first time Rihanna was the last to arrive for the major New York City event. In 2021, she arrived an hour after the red carpet closed at around 10 p.m. EST.

This late arrival comes as no surprise as Rihanna and ASAP Rocky arrived with their son at NYC’s five-star Carlyle Hotel in their casual clothes at the same time that their celebrity friends were exiting the establishment in their high-end dresses, suits, and cat-themed outfits honoring Karl Lagerfeld.

Earlier this evening ASAP made waves on social media for his goofy way into the Carlyle. He slowly worked his way through the crowd and hopped the barricade to land on the regal red carpet.

Rihanna fans were a little stunned when the Vogue live stream hosts said goodnight and goodbye to viewers just after 9 p.m. EST.

Maybe she just wanted to go back to the hotel and chill.

The businesswoman has to do her business.

Not only were people missing Rihanna, but fans were also patiently waiting for Zendaya to stun on the carpet.

Sadly, it didn’t make her move any quicker.

We are definitely practicing patience tonight.

RiRi might find out if one can be too fashionably late.

We all volunteer to watch your baby for the night!
