On June 18, Spotify dropped an exciting update on its Reserved feature, and it’s probably going to change how you get your concert tickets — especially if you’re a huge fan of an artist. ICYMI, Spotify announced that Reserved is now available to eligible Premium subscribers (ages 18+) — and they’re partnering with Role Model to give fans a shot at seeing their favorite artist live.
This announcement comes just as Role Model announced his next tour, Chuck On Tour — which is tied to his third album Chuck Timely & The Hourglass and set for release on Aug. 7. According to the schedule, Role Model’s tour is hitting the road on Aug. 28, and if you’re looking to get your hands on some tickets for the show closest to you, Reserved by Spotify might be here to help. And luckily, it sounds a lot less stressful than TicketMaster. (RIP my bank account after two $300 MCR resale tickets.)
Beginning June 18, eligible fans — selected based on streams, saves, shares, and location — will start receiving notifications that they can secure Chuck On Tour tickets using Reserved on June 23rd. These fans will receive a personalized offer on their Spotify Home screen, where they can find tour dates, the Reserved window, and even set a reminder for it. Seriously, Spotify has thought of everything.
When the Reserved window opens, dedicated fans will have two tickets reserved for them to purchase for eligible tour dates. According to Spotify, this Reserved window typically lasts about a day. Through this process and by targeting users based on Spotify stats, fans will have a better chance at reserving tickets and attending the singer’s concert. Spotify has also made clear that fans will be able to secure tickets with zero added Spotify fees. Huge.
As if this wasn’t enough, Spotify has also said that Role Model is only the beginning: Throughout the rest of the week, Spotify is set to announce additional artist tours and continue expanding.
With this incredible announcement, Spotify has me on the edge of my seat, ready to see what else they drop the rest of the week. But for now, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is just sitting here, crossing my fingers, waiting for a Reserved notification.
