Reneé Rapp’s 24th Birthday Party Will Feature A 1D Karaoke Performance By Christopher Briney

If you know me, you know that I’m in love with Reneé Rapp. How could I not be? Her style, music, and of course, her upcoming role as Regina George in the new Mean Girls musical movie are just some of the reasons to love her. If you listen to Rapp, you know that she has an incredible voice. OGs remember her 2018 Jimmy Awards performance.

Singing is something Rapp was made for and something she’s just really good at. Of course, not many people are blessed with a stage presence and voice like Rapp’s, but that doesn’t stop her from having some good old-fashioned fun doing karaoke with her friends.

While doing karaoke with Rapp in the room sounds like one of the most intimidating things to me, it’s also something I’m sure every Rapp fan would want to participate in. Jan 10 is Rapp’s 24th birthday, and she’s celebrating her special day with friends as well as her fellow Mean Girls cast members, according to PEOPLE. And Rapp is making her birthday wish known: she wants Christopher Brieny to sing “Night Changes” by One Direction at her party. And I’m so here for it.

Briney, most well-known for his role as Conrad Fisher in The Summer I Turned Pretty is playing heartthrob Aaron Samuels in Mean Girls. Rapp has talked in the past about her relationship with Briney, even saying she wants to have him in one of her music videos.

It’s safe to say that Rapp and Briney have a special friendship. TBH, they are my new favorite bestie duo – it just makes sense. Because of this, Rapp knows that she can get Briney to fulfill her birthday wish of singing a One Direction song at her party. Well, she didn’t really give him a choice. She sort of forced him.. If Rapp told me to do karaoke, I would.

While speaking with PEOPLE, Rapp said “[Briney]’s going to do ‘Night Changes’ by One Direction for my birthday on Wednesday, at the club.” Briney responded by saying, “That’s what we’ll be doing. For you …  Oh, man.”

Singing isn’t exactly Briney’s forte, however, fans of TSITP know that he did sing once on the show during his mother’s funeral. Briney told PEOPLE,“I don’t love to sing … But if I [had to] I’d probably do some Billy Joel. I listened to only Billy Joel for, like, two years. I like his ballads.” He’s so real for this.

NGL, I’m patiently waiting for videos to be released of Briney singing 1D. In the meantime, you can find me rewatching the video of Rapp singing “One Less Lonely Girl” dressed as Justin Bieber.
