Pete Davidson & Elsie Hewitt’s Baby Name Will Melt Your Heart

The most-anticipated role of Pete Davidson’s career has finally kicked off: dad. Comedian Pete Davidson and his girlfriend, model and actress Elsie Hewitt, officially welcomed their very first child together, a baby girl, on Dec.12, 2025. And the baby’s name is absolutely adorable. Congrats, Pete and Elsie!

Hewitt shared the joyful news on Instagram, posting a series of intimate family photos and captioning it “Our perfect angel girl arrived 12/12/2025.” She named their daughter Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson and shared, “My best work yet, I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief.” For his part? Hewitt jokes that Davidson merely said, “wu tang forever,” which is a signature offhand shot to his Staten Island roots and the iconic hip-hop group.

The choice of name is deeply personal for the couple. “Scottie” is a direct nod to Davidson’s late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died in the line of duty during the September 11, 2001 attacks.

FWIW, the name “Scottie” has been a growing trend; its popularity escalated significantly on the Social Security Administration’s list for the most popular girl names, jumping from 925th place in 2022 to 202nd place in 2024. The middle name choice of Rose has long remained a traditional and classy favorite; the 115th most popular girl’s middle name at the moment.

For Davidson, now 32, close to the age his father was at the time of his death, this chapter is a very emotional experience. In an interview before the birth, he spoke ironically about the sad experience of not having his father around, but he found a very beautiful silver lining: “It’s easy to be sad… It’s a beautiful thing. If anything, maybe he’s coming back through the baby,” he told ABC News.

Long before the baby’s arrival, Davidson spoke highly of wanting to be a father, labeling it his “dream forever since I was a little kid.” In an interview in July 2025 with Entertainment Tonight, just about the time when news of the pregnancy came out, he voiced excitement at being able to create a loving childhood: “I’m looking forward to being able to take care of something and show it the childhood I didn’t have.”

This protective instinct he has been feeling was expanded upon in another interview with Parents, where he said, “I just want to protect this baby and make sure that they know that they’re safe and that they could always come to me. I’m excited to be a reliable source for them and for their mother.”

As a self-proclaimed “family guy,” his preparations weren’t to be taken lightly. It’s known that he had bought a minivan years before he had kids, just because he found them “cool” and “stealthy.” In fact, he collaborated with eBay to create a “dad van” version in his Honda Odyssey, where he added a refrigerator, a baby change table, and a camper top.

Now, Davidson and Hewitt are starting to adjust to their new life in Brooklyn, embarking on the “best thing” he says he’ll ever do. With a name carrying a powerful family legacy and parents overflowing with love, baby Scottie Rose’s story is just beginning.
